A little bit of everything.
I think a good trip anywhere involves a little bit of this and a little bit of that and it's the combination of a million things that make seeing something new so wonderful. Eating delicious foods, skirting disaster, joining makeshift communities on subway cars, dancing to reggae music on the street, getting lost in Brooklyn, getting lost in Manhattan, and doing it all with my brother created a trip that I already want to repeat.

No sleep till brooklyn.
I loved our trip to New York, but if you ask Chan, all he'll say is that we walked a LOT. And I will admit, we spent 75% of our time walking. Checking out Manhattan and Brooklyn, and the subway and the restaurants, I kept thinking that he helped me fit in because of his long i-don't-give-a-hale hair, cutoff denim vest, and Betsy Ross socks. Such a punk-ghetto-hipster-bodyguard. Thanks Channie for humoring me. :)

On my mind:
Lately I've been so stressed/frustrated/in need of some fresh sourdough bread. But unlike past experiences, I'm totally okay with it. Thanks to phone calls with my ma and pa, and homemade soup from a sweet, sweet friend, and the genius ideas of Viktor Frankl, I've joined the fresh spring weather and turned my perspective around.

Things could be worse....
I could be addicted to cocaine. Or online shopping. Or eating cat hair. (Yes, that's a real thing.)
Hi. My name is Kylie and I'm kind of addicted to dairy. I must admit that lately I've developed the habit of eating a bowl of cereal for breakfast every morning...and sometimes for dinner too. At one point I was going through a gallon a week. But before you jump to conclusions, please understand that I work late and live alone. But still, I started reading blogs and articles about the hormones in milk and started questioning my favorite food group. I finally came to the realization that I had a problem, and did the only thing I could think of, the hardest thing I could think of, the WORST thing I could think of : two weeks of being dairy-free. In the process of proving to myself that I didn't belong on TLC's newest episode of 'My Strange Addiction,' strange things began happening. My third day without milk I woke up at three in the morning with a parched throat and was half way to the fridge before I realized that I had just been dreaming about milk. Things continued to get worse. Vanilla Moose (my favorite place in town. AKA: the local ice cream shop) opened on day eight of my fast and I wanted to die. I made pancakes on day twelve and had to eat them with water! As you can see, my dairy-free weeks turned me into a giant drama queen diva. But like like Gloria Gaynor, I survived and discovered that almond milk isn't as freaky as I once thought it was and that I should diversify my eating habits to avoid scurvy.

Hangout sesh with 6 preteen boys:
And it went a little like this:
-I mistakenly brought some roasted peanuts to share and then had to endure 4 hours of nut jokes and hysteric giggling.
-They had an intervention for me and all declared that I need a boyfriend and came up with potential dates. These included all other staff and Barack Obama. (because apparently I'm in looooove with him.)
- Harlem Shake came on the radio and I swear I was driving a bus with 6 epileptics who coordinated their seizures.
-There was a very in-depth and serious conversation about whether having a pet cougar is good idea.
Oh the glories of having 11 year old friends.

My athletic peak:
BAHAHAHA. Yes, I reached my physical peak at age 23 last weekend when I ran 5 miles along the Colorado River. But I've decided that I'm not going to let it stop me from running a couple more races in my life because I loved passing people and eating the free bananas and chocolate milk afterwards. I am a true competitive fatty. Also, I am going to pass on posting photos of me in my running pantalones because, well, who really looks good in spandex? And I'm not going to combine text of me gushing on about free chocolate milk and follow it with photos of myself in stretchy pants. Waaaaay too much for me and the internet to handle.

(where I ran. GORGEous. heh heh.)
( My Aztec lady DIXIE)
(So this is me testing/gorging myself on the "matrimony waters" that come out of the side of a mountain on the side of the freeway. Totally sketch and delicious and hopefully effective. Haha. )
(A lot of people wearing stretchy clothing getting ready to run!)
